The Labour Court upheld a recommendation for an external assessment of a Roads Department post held by an acting supervisor at Limerick Corporation. The decision was dated 29 September 2000. If the assessor grades the post at Supervisor level, a competition should be held and the worker may apply. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought her permanent appointment without competition; the Court disallowed its appeal.
