The Workplace Relations Commission found Niall Moynagh’s unfair dismissal and minimum notice complaints against Meridian Security Limited were not well founded, after finding he left his job voluntarily. The decision was dated 17 July 2023. Moynagh said he was dismissed after a heated phone call following an absence due to illness. The company said he had stopped attending work and had not been dismissed. The WRC accepted the company’s account. Two working-time complaints were withdrawn. Meridian conceded €195.50 for Sunday work, which it said it would pay; that complaint was withdrawn and the sum was not a WRC award.
