The Workplace Relations Commission found that Margaret Wright could not bring her fixed-term work complaint against An Garda Síochána because she was not a fixed-term employee under the law. The decision was dated 29 May 2024. Wright worked full-time as a relief cleaner at one station from January 2017. An Garda Síochána said it had granted her a contract of indefinite duration backdated to 1 April 2019, with incremental pay credit from 1 April 2023. The contract also provided for superannuation and paid sick leave.
