The Workplace Relations Commission said Liam Lawlor’s Equal Status complaint against West Wood Club CLG failed after he did not attend a hearing; the merits were not decided. The WRC decision was dated 28 July 2023. Lawlor had told the WRC on 26 July that he would not attend the hearing on 27 July and did not request a postponement. The WRC said he had been informed of the hearing arrangements by letter dated 8 June. A grace period was allowed for him to attend or contact the WRC, but he did not do so. The respondent’s legal representative attended.
