The Workplace Relations Commission found Renaldas Petkevicius’s claim for a statutory redundancy payment against Gl West Cork Motors Limited not well founded, saying there was no evidence of dismissal and redundancy. The decision was dated 5 June 2024. Petkevicius said he had worked for the motor company from January 2019 to January 2022 and had received no redundancy payment. He did not attend the hearing or provide requested supporting records. The respondent also did not appear and filed no defence. Adjudication Officer Patsy Doyle said Petkevicius had notice of the hearing and had consciously decided not to attend. His request to postpone the hearing was refused after he booked a flight following notification of the hearing.
