The Workplace Relations Commission found Suzanne O’Reilly’s complaint against University College Dublin was not well founded in a decision dated 15 June 2023, after she did not attend the hearing; the merits were not decided. O’Reilly alleged discrimination on the family-status ground and victimisation connected with her former employment and later applications to rejoin UCD. She emailed the WRC the day before the hearing to say she could not attend, but the Commission said the hearing would go ahead. UCD attended with written submissions and witnesses prepared to give evidence. The adjudication officer said the case could not proceed without O’Reilly and must fail. The decision found the complaint not well founded.
