The Workplace Relations Commission granted statutory redundancy to Ilona Andrijevska for service from 7 June 2017 to 30 June 2022, after her former employer confirmed the entitlement but said the business had no funds to pay. In a decision dated 1 August 2023, the WRC accepted the employer's evidence that the business was effectively insolvent. The rate of pay used in the adjudication was €11.30 an hour, the minimum wage stated by the Irish Hairdressing Federation for June 2022. Andrijevska had submitted an RP50 to the Department of Social Protection as part of her claim against an insolvent employer.
