A Workplace Relations Commission adjudication officer ruled she had no jurisdiction to hear Stephen Murphy’s three complaints against Plaza Hotel. The decision was dated 15 May 2024, and the merits were not decided. Murphy said he was constructively dismissed after the hotel refused his requests for part-time work and annual leave. He also complained that he did not receive meals while on duty or the required 11-hour daily rest periods. The officer found his employer was Plaza Tallaght Hospitality Ltd, not the named respondent, Plaza Hotel, and could not amend the respondent’s name in any of the complaints.
