The Workplace Relations Commission found Dhruv Kumar’s complaint against Sar Group not well founded, ruling that he had not been placed on lay-off. The decision was dated 13 July 2023. Kumar said a colleague at a hospital could not provide adequate support, leaving him under pressure and anxiety. He said his roster was stopped and he was left without work for about four weeks. Sar Group said he walked off the job and was offered another site and roster, which he refused. The adjudicator found Kumar walked off the site and was not put on lay-off or a zero-hours contract. The decision lists the complaint under the Organisation of Working Time Act, which governs working hours and related workplace matters.
