A Workplace Relations Commission adjudication officer recommended that a Hair and Beauty Salon pay an anonymised Hairdresser €1,000 in compensation after finding she was unfairly dismissed. The decision was dated 1 June 2023. The worker said she was dismissed without a reason or a chance to improve. The salon sought a postponement shortly before the hearing, but its request was declined; it did not attend. The adjudicator found she had received no details of performance concerns, chance to respond to allegations or opportunity to improve. The recommendation took account of the business’s small size.
