The Workplace Relations Commission directed Excel Recruitment to pay agency worker Daniel Deighan €76.40 net for a wage shortfall in a decision dated 1 June 2023. Three other complaint groups were not well founded. Deighan challenged a €160 deduction, alleged underpayments for Sunday work and raised complaints about part-time work and constructive dismissal. Excel Recruitment said the deduction repaid an overpayment and acknowledged a remaining shortfall after a previous payment. The WRC found the €160 deduction was a lawful reimbursement and rejected that complaint. It found the linked Sunday underpayment complaints well founded and directed payment of €76.40 net. The part-time work and unfair dismissal complaints were not well founded; the WRC found the agency was not the correct respondent for the dismissal complaint.
