The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Lana Tilly €1,200 after finding Audace Hair And Beauty Salon failed to provide her with written terms of employment. The decision was dated 1 June 2023. The WRC found the salon failed to give Tilly the required information within five days or two months of her starting work. She said she had received no information about her terms and conditions. The salon sought a postponement, which was declined, and did not attend the hearing. The adjudicator awarded two weeks’ pay for each breach, €600 each, totalling €1,200. The decision noted the business was small when setting compensation.
