The Workplace Relations Commission declined to hear Mary Ward’s complaint against Sheerwater Hotel after finding it was not the correct respondent. Adjudication Officer Louise Boyle’s decision was dated 18 June 2025. Ward alleged discrimination as a member of the Travelling community under the Equal Status Act. She argued the hotel was involved in organising or promoting the event; the hotel said the Sunday Club organised it and it provided the venue. The WRC decision dealt only with jurisdiction and made no finding on the discrimination allegation.
