The Workplace Relations Commission ended Mark Donnelly’s two wage complaints against Iarnrod Eireann / Irish Rail after he failed to attend hearings. The WRC decision was dated 10 June 2024. The merits were not decided. Donnelly alleged that the company made unlawful deductions from his wages under the Payment of Wages Act 1991. He missed hearings scheduled for 15 January and 10 June 2024, though his representative and the respondent attended both. The adjudication officer said Donnelly had notice of the rescheduled hearing and gave no explanation for his absence.
