The Workplace Relations Commission found Zara Yaffe’s unfair dismissal complaint against Weir & Sons was not well founded. Adjudication officer Jim Dolan’s decision was dated 29 May 2024. Yaffe said a requested transfer from Dundrum to Grafton Street and the company’s response to her workplace grievances left her no option but to resign. Weir & Sons said the transfer was allowed under her contract and reflected business needs, and that it had offered to address her complaints. Dolan noted that the company had begun investigating a formal grievance. He found Yaffe resigned before it could address her complaint, and concluded that her resignation was fatal to the claim.
