The WRC said it had no jurisdiction over an age discrimination complaint by a 14-year-old who was asked to leave a Sport Direct shop while trying to buy GAA boots. The decision was dated 15 May 2024; the merits were not decided. The officer said the law does not treat different treatment based on age as age discrimination when the person is under 18. The officer also found no evidence that Sport Direct penalised the girl for bringing the complaint.
