The Workplace Relations Commission ordered Beyond Beautiful Boutique Ltd t/a Tiffany to pay Margaret Conway €80.50 for wages withheld for lunch breaks and extra evening work. The WRC decision was dated 21 June 2024. Conway said the business stopped paying her for this time in the weeks before her dismissal. The officer found the payments were properly due and that withholding them was an unlawful deduction. Her separate claim for unfair dismissal was not well founded because she was dismissed by reason of redundancy. She was also entitled to a redundancy payment, subject to having been in insurable employment; the decision records gross weekly remuneration of €184.
Margaret Conway awarded €80.50 in wage deduction complaint
