The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) allowed Biggi Sund’s redundancy appeal and found her minimum-notice complaint well founded, awarding six weeks’ notice pay. The decision was dated 16 May 2024. Sund worked as a shop assistant for Europhil Service Station Limited from 1 April 2012 until the business closed on 19 September 2023. She said she received no redundancy or notice pay after the closure. Her gross weekly wage was €336 for a 28-hour week. The respondent did not attend the hearing, but the adjudication officer was satisfied it had been notified. The officer found Sund entitled to statutory redundancy, subject to confirmation that her employment was insurable and approval by the appropriate government agency. The decision does not state a euro amount for either entitlement.
