The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ordered Bidvest Noonan to pay Youcef Feddal €500 in compensation after finding his complaint over unpaid annual leave well founded. The decision was dated 16 May 2024. Feddal said 33.47 hours of leave accrued before a transfer of the security services contract in November 2023 had not been paid. Bidvest Noonan argued that the former employer was responsible. The officer found the new employer liable for employment rights carried over in the transfer, noting it had not produced the agreement it said assigned payment to the former employer. The officer found that 33.5 hours of leave transferred with Feddal to Bidvest Noonan and should be taken under the company’s normal procedures, as well as directing the €500 compensation payment.
