The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) did not determine whether Thomas Deevy was entitled to retrospective pay after finding it could not clarify a Labour Court recommendation. Its decision was dated 17 June 2025; no monetary award was recorded. Deevy said the recommendation provided retrospective pay for time he had worked before his dismissal. Kilkenny Limestone Quarries Ltd argued it did not cover former employees and said €3,170.23 would be due only if he were found entitled. The WRC found the recommendation was silent on leavers and joiners and said its adjudication service could not add a clause or clarification. It did not decide whether the claimed amount was payable.
