The Workplace Relations Commission dismissed Lijo Chethikalam’s complaints against Tallaght University Hospital, finding no prima facie case of race discrimination. The decision was dated 17 June 2025. Chethikalam alleged discrimination in promotion and training, harassment and victimisation, and said supervision of a project intended to support his professional registration obstructed his career progression. The hospital denied the allegations and said staff had tried to support him. The adjudication officer found the evidence did not establish a link between the treatment alleged and race. A separate complaint that Chethikalam had been dismissed for a discriminatory reason was rejected because the officer found he had not been dismissed.
