The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) found that Oberstown Children Detention Campus had not breached annual leave rules and ruled Nicola Nixon’s complaint not well founded. Adjudication Officer Catherine Byrne’s decision was dated 10 June 2025. Nixon sought compensation for two days of annual leave per year that she said she missed between 2011 and her retirement in December 2021. Oberstown argued the WRC could consider only the statutory minimum leave entitlement. The WRC found Nixon’s claim concerned leave above that minimum, over which it had no jurisdiction.
