The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Elizabeth Turner €2,500 after finding Baldoyle Forum CLG unfairly dismissed her by refusing to let her withdraw a verbal resignation. The decision, dated 13 June 2025, said accepting the resignation that evening was unnecessarily pre-emptive and it was unreasonable not to allow her to retract it. Turner said she resigned in the heat of the moment and promptly asked to withdraw it. The forum said she had chosen to resign and it was not obliged to permit a withdrawal. The WRC upheld her unfair-dismissal complaint and selected compensation because the relationship was not conducive to her returning to work.
