The WRC made no recommendation in favour of a worker in a dispute with a facilities services company over a new contract and allegations of unfair treatment. The decision was dated 5 July 2023. The worker said he was pressed to sign documents with blank working hours and was treated unfairly after raising concerns about supervisory duties. The company said staff could opt out of the new pay structure and that training newer colleagues was an ordinary part of the role. The adjudication officer found the worker was not coerced into accepting a new contract because he remained on his existing terms, and accepted the employer’s version of events.
