The WRC recommended that an industrial grade worker make a fresh application for an acting-up allowance through the NPSSHR system, via his line and divisional managers. The recommendation, dated 17 May 2024, said the government department should review it under the 84-day rule and respond in writing. The worker said he had completed 84 consecutive days in acting-up duties in 2023. The department said the application had not been approved by its head of HR.
