The WRC recommended that a worker and a county council agree on a mediator to address recurring disagreements over wages, allowances and working arrangements. The recommendation was dated 18 June 2025. The worker, a sanitary caretaker, sought overtime, public-holiday pay, several allowances and mileage reimbursement. A county council said overtime required advance approval and outlined payments and allowances already made. The adjudication officer noted that some issues had been covered by a settlement proposal and said she could not make a definitive recommendation on arrangements affecting the wider group of caretakers. The mediator could also consider whether compensation for a defined period would resolve the dispute.
