The WRC recommended that a worker regard a pay dispute as closed after the worker sought a higher point on the General Services Supervisor salary scale for seasonal acting-up work. The recommendation was dated 11 June 2025. The worker had acted as a supervisor for several months each year since 2017 but remained at the first point of the scale. The employer said the worker received an acting allowance at that point only for days worked in the role and had declined an offer of a permanent supervisor position in 2024. The WRC said a favourable recommendation could lead to similar claims from other temporary supervisors.
