The Labour Court recommended that Shannon Airport Authority and 55 Airport Police & Fire And Service Officers await the outcome of a joint application to interpret a registered agreement. The recommendation was dated 24 May 2023. The dispute concerns annual leave accrual and sick pay for officers recruited since a 2019 agreement. Management relied on a 2010 agreement, while the union considered a 2003 registered agreement applicable. The parties told the court they were jointly seeking an interpretation under section 12(1) of the Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act 2015.
