The Labour Court recommended an 8% pay adjustment from 1 January 2023 and a further 4% from 1 January 2024 for 27 fitters and other grades at Pat O'Donnell & Co. It also recommended a €750 lump sum in lieu of retrospection, payable on acceptance. The recommendation was dated 27 June 2023. The Court noted that local engagement produced a proposed 9% and 4% increase with a €1,000 lump sum, but the employer’s directors rejected it and it was not put to a union ballot. The Court also considered the company’s March offer of cumulative 11% increases, subject to conditions. The recommendation covered use of the NAV system, normal ongoing change and discussion of a proposed performance bonus. The agreement would expire on 31 December 2024, with no cost-increasing claims from the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union during its term.
