The Labour Court recommended that CK Executive Services Ireland Ltd pay a worker €5,000 to resolve a trade dispute over his summary dismissal. The decision was dated 19 June 2024. The worker had appealed an Adjudication Officer’s recommendation. The Court said the employer dismissed him by phone without giving him a chance to defend himself or appeal. It found that the employer had not followed any procedure or observed the fundamental principles of natural justice. The payment was described as a gesture of goodwill.
