The Labour Court found Seamus O'Cianain entitled to €600 net after statutory deductions for accrued annual leave when his employment with Alan Wyse & Sons ended. In a determination dated 17 July 2023, it varied the Adjudication Officer’s decision on his appeal against the award amount. The Adjudication Officer had awarded €600 less statutory deductions. O'Cianain said he had agreed with the employer on €100 net per day. The employer did not attend the hearing, but had sent the Court a letter and a €573 bank draft made out to James Keenan. O'Cianain told the Court that he received neither. The Court relied on his uncontradicted evidence.
