The Labour Court allowed Grant Engineering (Ireland) Unlimited Company’s appeal in Danny Kearns’s complaint over an alleged €5.92 wage shortfall for work on 23 September 2022. The Court’s decision was dated 17 June 2024. Kearns said a welding-area testing assignment entitled him to an extra €5.92 that day. The company said the enhanced payment applied only when the assignment lasted a week. The Court found Kearns had not established that the additional payment was properly payable, and set aside the adjudication officer’s decision.
