The Labour Court found Raymond McDonald’s redundancy complaint was brought outside the time limit and his appeal failed. It affirmed the Adjudication Officer’s decision. The determination was dated 2 August 2023. McDonald said he was made redundant at the end of August 2019. O’Donnell Coach Hire Limited said he resigned and that his role was not redundant. The Court said the complaint was made almost three years after his employment ended, beyond the maximum 104-week limit. The merits of whether he was made redundant were not decided.
