The Labour Court upheld the decision that Barry Ryan’s redundancy complaint against DHL Supply Chain (Ireland) Limited was not well founded. The Court found that his role was not subject to redundancy because the contract work continued with a transfer of undertaking on 1 September 2022. Ryan said his employment with DHL ended on 31 August 2022 and that he later took a different role with Company Y after an interview, without continuity of service. DHL argued that his employment transferred with the continuing contract work. The Labour Court’s decision was signed on 26 May 2025.
