The Labour Court varied the decision against Seda (Skills & Enterprise Development Academy) Limited and set compensation at €1,611 for Melissa Angarita Cardenas. The determination was dated 19 July 2023. The appeal concerned the Terms of Employment (Information) Act 1994. SEDA conceded it had not provided Ms Angarita Cardenas with a written statement of terms and conditions for her employment after her fixed-term contract expired. The contract provided for an annual salary of €21,000 and ran until 7 March 2020. The Court said SEDA’s appeal could not succeed and varied the adjudication officer’s decision, setting compensation at €1,611. The appeal was heard alongside five other related appeals.
