The Workplace Relations Commission awarded Ion Tataru €4,000 after finding that Alandale Logistics (Ireland) Limited unfairly dismissed him. The decision was dated 26 June 2023. Tataru said he was dismissed after raising pay concerns and alleged unpaid hours and annual leave. The company said high-level cleaning had ended, he was laid off rather than dismissed, and he declined an alternative role. The WRC found he was dismissed in December 2019 when he was purportedly laid off. It also found that he declined alternative roles, significantly limiting his efforts to reduce his financial loss. His complaints under the employment-information and working-time laws were found not well founded because the company was not the proper respondent.
