The Workplace Relations Commission found it had no jurisdiction to hear Roger Bejenaru’s discrimination complaint against Kedington Ltd., which alleged that he was offered less favourable terms for a charge-hand promotion because of his race and age. The decision was dated 25 July 2023. Bejenaru sought an extension, saying he had delayed while waiting for information about a tax rebate and a response to a separate pay complaint. Kedington denied discrimination and argued that the complaint was outside the six-month limit. The WRC found the reasons did not establish reasonable cause to extend the time limit. It found the complaint was brought outside the time limit and was not well founded; the merits were not decided.
