A Workplace Relations Commission adjudication officer ordered Northway Personnel Limited to pay Veaceslav Ciocoi €160 after finding the company failed to give him the required notice. The decision was dated 28 May 2024. Ciocoi said he had not received his correct notice, was unfairly dismissed, lacked written employment terms and was underpaid annual leave. Northway denied the complaints and said it was an employment agency, not his employer for unfair dismissal purposes. The officer found Ciocoi had received written terms on his first day, and that the complaints about unfair dismissal and annual leave were not well founded. The annual leave claim was not supported by evidence showing regular overtime or when the leave accrued; his final payslip showed payment for 26.67 accrued hours. He withdrew his industrial relations complaint.
