A WRC adjudicator found that a bonus was not properly payable to Jonathan Newman because he had left Musgrave Wholesale Partners before the bonus was paid. The decision, dated 23 May 2024, found his complaint under the Payment of Wages Act 1991 not well founded. Newman said he worked his month-long notice period and had been told he would lose the bonus if he left within that timeframe. Musgrave said he was no longer an employee when bonuses were paid, and that his contract did not provide for a bonus.
