WRC rejects security officer’s discrimination complaint against Pulse

By Niamh Kearney

Workplace Relations Commission ·

The Workplace Relations Commission found that Pulse Security Management did not discriminate against or harass security officer Antonio Duarte. Duarte alleged race discrimination and harassment after HR requested employment and licensing documents and warned of possible disciplinary action. He also raised concerns about Sunday pay and rates, but the WRC decision addressed the equality complaint. Pulse said the request followed an audit to meet statutory and licensing requirements. The WRC found Duarte had not established a prima facie case.
