The WRC found that a third-level college’s process for appointing a Research Office Manager lacked openness and transparency, and recommended a new procedure with advertised, competitive recruitment. The recommendation was dated 21 June 2023. The worker said she was not given an opportunity to apply for the role. The college said it was research-linked and filled under its career development framework. The WRC recommended that the revised procedure be completed within three months.
