The Workplace Relations Commission did not recommend that Local Authority concede a worker’s claim that it treated her unfairly during a grievance process concerning accommodation for a disability. The recommendation was dated 4 June 2024. The worker raised concerns about handling of a flexitime request, delays in considering adjustments and a critical illness application, attendance procedures and medical reports sent to Occupational Health. The officer found the response to the accommodation request took a reasonable time given the case’s complexity and said the employer had paid arrears after exercising discretion in the worker’s favour. The related Employment Equality decision is not included here.
