The Labour Court recommended that Michael Kelleher Solicitors pay €10,000 in compensation to a worker it found had been dismissed without fair process. The recommendation was signed on 17 July 2023. The worker, employed under a solicitor training contract, was dismissed in February 2023. The firm accepted it had not followed the required procedures, had no disciplinary procedure and had not supplied written terms of employment. The Court found the worker had no process or opportunity to engage before dismissal.
